What is listed here are the major projects the Deputy Grand Master's office is currently working on.
Dark Brotherhood Gaming: Improvements
An ongoing project the Deputy Grand Master is working on is to evaluate the state of gaming in the Dark Brotherhod and research ways to improve it. Currently on the drawing board are a rework of the CF upgrades, the introduction of a new, higher tier CF similar to the ECF but to promote larger scale matches and games that take longer like Empire at War and Allegiance. There is also a new Gaming Night champion's medal under consideration. We are also looking at ways to either expand on the existing GMRG structure or else create an gaming society equivalent to the ACC. 24/7 gaming and monthly ladders for all games (as well as a free ladder for non-SW games) are also in the works.
Codex: Improvements
Another ongoing project is to go through the Codex and not only rewrite several sections but also add a few more chapters and possibly remove some of the later chapters and transfer them to the Dark Side Compendium. The Dark Brotherhood has expanded a lot during the past three years but the Codex has stayed mostly the same. We now have awards and titles beyond ranks and medals, but many are not seen as 'officially recognised' because they are not recorded anywhere formally. Expect to see many of the sections that were once planned for the Dark Covenant making their way into the Codex.
The Holocron
A project proposed by Bloodfyre that has been taken under the general wing of the Deputy Grand Master's office is the Holocron. The Holocron would be for all the information not currently contained in the Codex or the Dark Side Compendium. It would primarily focus on three sections, one for each Order, to keep the Order histories alive and be a record of much of the fictional history once part of the individual Order Leader websites.
Dark Brotherhood Wiki
The Dark Brotherhood Wiki is currently in development. While not something the Deputy Grand Master himself is personally overseeing it falls under the office, and is being driven by Sarin. The Wiki is already in working order and the most important articles being added, as well as ideas for general templates worked out. Expect to see it unveiled to the public in the no too distant future.
Dark Brotherhood Forums: Improvements
While the Dark Brotherhood has always, and probably will always, use IRC as its main form of communication increasingly more and more people are making use of forums. What once was out now is in, and IRC is seen as lame and forums as cool. Unfortunately the current forums are a mess, there are too many individual forums, there is a mass of old sticky topics and unnecessary rules and regulations posted around the place, plus the whole layout and colour scheme are starting to feel dated. A general rework of how the forums work and their overall layout and colour scheme are currently on the to-do list.
Dark Brotherhood Member's Think Tank
It needs a cool, flashy name, but a think tank is something the Deputy Grand Master wishes to establish as soon as all the big competitions are finished. It would be a place where members could freely express views and make suggestions for improvements, as well as encouraging discussion rather than grudge harbouring or hatred. We all have things about the Dark Brotherhood we don't like, this would be the place to air them and try to get them fixed. Though the Grand and Deputy Grand Master's doors are always open sometimes people don't feel confident enough to e-mail the heads of the club, so this would be the easy, casual and public place to do it.
